Self-expression is a pushing out of the powers, talents and abilities of YOUR self. The word ‘express’ literally means to ‘push out’, to exert, to show forth. It means turning on YOUR light and letting it shine. Self-expression is a ‘yes’ response.

The tiger is a metaphor for self-expression; the desire, the ability and the freedom to just be ME. Renowned mythologist Joseph Campbell said ‘follow your bliss’. When we commit to our own deeper instincts towards self-expression, we enter an adventure zone where the doors of possibility open up to us.

Wake Up Tiger is a journey through this adventure zone. YOU begin at A and you end at Z, and a whole heap of unexpected stuff happens along the way. Just like life.

Richard is available to assist companies and individuals wake up their tiger.

He presents keynote talks at conferences and events; he runs business workshops in the areas of culture, values, leadership, strategy, brand, and creativity; and he develops brand strategies for the way organizations communicate and do business, on the inside (people and culture) as well as on the outside (marketing).
Richard is a brand storyteller and public speaker, with an advertising background and a decent education in literature, philosophy and psychology. He grew up in Cape Town, and has been living and working in Sydney for over twenty years. After completing full-time service in the ad industry, Richard left to chase his dream to make a difference. He believes that all people have the desire and the capacity to be EXTRA-ordinary human beings, given the right encouragement, support and ‘the space to be’. Wake Up Tiger is his “dream come true”.

He is married to Claire with three EXTRA-ordinary kids aged sixteen (Nick), fourteen (Sophie) and nine (Roxy), and lives in a rambling sandstone home on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, a short drive from Shelley Beach.
